The event

The Italian National Fire and Rescue Service, by means of the Rome Fire Command is planning an event in Rome next April for a profitable exchange with the fire brigades operating in the other Capitals of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism Member and Participating States.

The event, scheduled to take place over the period ranging from the 15th to the 24th of April, has been planned to compare activities among the various operational fire brigade structures in charge of providing technical search and rescue activities and fire-fighting services in large cities, in order to develop knowledge, exchange of skills and common interests, that will help improve operational response in this field.

To this end, a variety of activities have been planned, such as:

• Workshop and conferences during which technical and thematic exchanges will be promoted in particular with regard to the organization of response services, instrumental and technological equipment, operational training and maintenance, operator safety, fire prevention, personnel health prevention and protection, and other issues.

• Joint training and exercise activities. The participation of multifunctional rescue vehicles, robotic devices and other means facilitating the management of rescue and firefighting operations will be particularly welcome. In fact, the fire brigades from EU Capitals coming to Rome can participate, together with Italian professional firefighters, in joint training and exercise activities.

• Promotion and information campaigns in the Rome schools in order to spread safety culture and EU cooperation spirit among young people.

• Mini sport competitions among the participating delegations of firefighters.
