24/04/2023 - "ROMA 2023" CONCLUDES WITH THE CONCERT OF THE NATIONAL FIRE BRIGADE BAND AT THE OPERA THEATER IN THE PRESENCE OF THE INTERIOR MINISTER

Data di pubblicazione

Ten days of intense work, cooperation, and professional exchange to manage rescue operations, with the participation of firefighters from European capitals in Rome. The "Roma 2023 European Firefighters Experience" concluded tonight with a concert by the Fire Brigade Band at the Opera Theater in the presence of the Interior Minister, Matteo Piantedosi.

The Chief Department Prefect, Laura Lega, proudly highlighted that "today marks the end of the first experience of comparison and sharing between European fire brigades. A unique and extraordinary experience that has allowed us to better promote the Italian high-impact rescue system and lays the foundation for a path to continue in the coming years to streamline the rescue system. An important experience also because it has allowed us to strengthen common values, which aim to help and rescue people 'always and in any case'. It was an event that laid the foundations for a dialogue, a common grammar between countries, in the planning of activities on technological innovation, management of the effects of climate change, and environmental protection."

The Chief of the Corps, Guido Parisi, thanked in particular "the hundreds of European colleagues who have traveled thousands of kilometers to share their experience, but firefighters have no boundaries of space and time. They are all aligned by the spirit of altruism, even to the extreme sacrifice. The firefighters' uniform is a uniform that is never taken off, covering the heart, as demonstrated by the presence of dozens and dozens of retired firefighters who helped us welcome the embrace of the people yesterday at Piazza del Popolo, in particular with the children, behaving like true grandparents."
