The exercise on operational scenarios concluded at the Central Fire Schools in Rome Capannelle, the first of many opportunities for exchange between Italian firefighters and those from the rest of Europe. Urban Search And Rescue (USAR) teams conducted search and rescue activities in an urban environment, among the rubble of a collapsed building. Speleo Alpine Fluvial (SAF) teams simulated rope maneuvers to evacuate people in danger from the upper floors of a burning building, while Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) operations were carried out to secure an area after an incident involving a van carrying radioactive material.
