ROME 2023 - EUROPEAN FIREFIGHTERS EXPERIENCE. TODAY, TRAINING AT THE OPERATIONAL TRAINING SCHOOL IN MONTELIBRETTI (RM) BETWEEN ITALIAN AND EUROPEAN FIREFIGHTERS.

Today marks the beginning of a three-day training session at the Operational Training School in Montelibretti (RM), where Italian and European firefighters are confronting each other in specific intervention types on various realistic scenarios across a 16-hectare area. The exercises include CBRN maneuvers for the recovery of dangerous substances, an underground fire scenario with accompanying rescue maneuvers for motorists trapped inside, as well as extinguishing operations on a rooftop and inside a house. Water rescue operations were also a key part of the day, including a simulation of a person trapped in a submerged car. Finally, one of the helicopters from the National Corps' air fleet tested the "Human Cargo" maneuver, in which the helicopter rescue team can bring a significant number of people to safety in a shorter period of time.
